Melbourne, FL. - EMX announced a block upgrade to its EPT-40 Pan/Tilt unit. The EPT-40 has been used exclusively for the EMX 'Midwatch' Day/Night Surveillance System but is available to the marketplace for other payloads. The PTZ is designed to accommodate up to a 50 lb. payload.
Tim Arion, CEO said: "We have redesigned the EPT-40 Controller PWB with a 16-bit microprocessor. This doubles our processing speed and provides us with three video overlay channels and up to eight serial data ports. DIP switches permit selection of RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 on the data ports. The standard interface to the outside world is Pelco-D (422) but can be programmed to deal with other protocols. These changes put us more in line with the market trend to include GPS, LRF, and laser pointer capability."
The EMX EPT-40 is a versatile pan/tilt positioning system that is user-configurable for side mounting of payloads or 'over-the-top' traditional mounting of payloads. Weighing in at 21 lbs., the EPT-40 has continuous 360° degree rotation with a Pan speed of 60°/second (payload dependent) and Tilt speed of 30°/second. Rated at IP-66, the EPT-40 is suitable for marine applications and can be configured to accept Marine Radar TTM Message Data for 'slew-to-cue' operations with the Radar. Incremental pan and tilt encoders with 2048 resolution provide position feedback and are also used to provide 'on-screen' display of pan/tilt position in azimuth and elevation.
