ELT Tooling has special designed bend dies and clamp dies that actually save you money and set up time.
Let's say that the product you produce in auto or motorcycle exhaust or you are a job shop. The fact is that you have to make more bends with tighter radii, and shorter straight sections between the bends than ever.
We can offer bend dies that are designed to accept additional grip sections for straights that are long enough to accommodate the longer grip. (It is always better to have the longest clamp die length as possible to keep slippage to a minimum.)
For parts with shorter straights, you simply change out the insert and you do not have to deal with any over head tie bar or other adjustments.
A typical application may be to set up your tool set with bend die and clamp dies with 1D, 1,5D, 2D and longer, grip lengths if required. The 1D insert is built into the bend die body, which is reason that this design is so unique, robust, and eliminates the interference as in other designs. Also, with only (2) inserts you have (3) grip length possibilities.
This option also gives you the flexibility of grip finishes, for example; some materials mark less with knurl finish that serrations. You can make additional inserts with different grip finishes and lengths which is much more economical than purchasing new bend dies.
