(Cranston, Rhode Island)..... Charles "Sid" Ellis, President, North Safety Products, today announced that North Safety Products was selected as one of two global license partners of Royal DSM NV for DyneemaŽ hand protection.
"North Safety Products is proud to accept this designation as a global partner with DSM," Mr. Ellis said. "The future of hand protection is Dyneema, giving workers a better solution when selecting cut resistant gloves." He added that North Safety Products will develop and launch new Dyneema hand protection products over the coming months, aimed at providing users with effective solutions to their cut and abrasion protection needs.
Dyneema is the world's strongest fibre, offering unprecedented protection against cuts, abrasion and other mechanical hazards. It is also incredibly light, offering protection with minimal impact on wearer comfort.

"North Safety Products' gloves containing our super-strong DyneemaŽ polyethylene fiber have been tested by DSM Dyneema and have shown to meet strict requirements for safety, performance and quality," she said. Turner added that DSM Dyneema looks forward to working with North Safety Products on marketing and communications efforts through the program.
DSM's Dyneema license selection criteria were satisfied by North Safety Products' total commitment to providing its customers with quality hand protection products, backed up by sound marketing and a strong communications effort focusing on the benefits of the Dyneema fibre.
DSM operates a Quality Assurance Certification program, whereby all licensees' Dyneema products are tested and approved by DSM. Approved products carry the "With Dyneema" label, which provides the end user with the comfort of knowing that DSM themselves have determined that the product is of sufficient quality and that it meets the mechanical performance claims made for it by the manufacturer.
