New Component Handling Options Extend Flexibility
Horsham, PA August 3, 2007 - Dynatech International will showcase the Samsung SM321 Series placement system at the IPC Midwest Expo Booth 340 in Schaumburg, IL September 26-28; SMTA International Booth 220 in Orlando October 9-10; and Nepcon East Booth 915 in Boston October 30-31.
Samsung has broken the speed barrier for mid-range production systems with the SM321 Series. Placing 21,000 CPH with ±50µm accuracy, based on the IPC 9850 parameters, the SM321 platform reaches a new high for systems in its class. QFPs and BGAs are placed at speeds up to 5,500 CPH at ±30µm accuracy. The SM321 series handles boards up to 20" x 24" at production speeds with its high resolution flying vision system and enhanced board handling capabilities.
The SM321 platform is configured for Samsung SM Series slim format tape feeder system, which is designed and built to handle industry standard EIA 481 tape sizes, holds a maximum of 120 8mm feeders. The SM feeder is available in both standard and Intelligent (IT) Feeder System configurations. The Intelligent (IT) Feeder System adds complete lot tracking and inventory management capabilities to the SM321 platform. Critical parts management and tracking from the stock room to loading and placing feeders on the table are under the control of a unified management system to avoid costly errors. IT Feeders are assigned a unique identity based on which components are loaded onto the feeder. The IT system then ensures that the correct part is loaded in the assigned feeder slot in the active inventory on the SM321base.
New enhancements to the SM 321 include a zero-footprint, non-shuttle tray system and SM feeder platform compatible tube/stick feeder options designed to increase operational efficiency.
