Press release date: August 14, 2008

(Sarasota, FL.) - With constant failures of electronic web guide edge detectors, Duro Bag's Jackson, Tenn, plant made a bold switch to all-air web guides from Coast Controls. Duro Bag Manufacturing Company is one of the world's largest produces of grocery, retail and specialty paper bags. Following a successful test period, Duro Bag began replacing electronic web guide systems with the all-air model CD2 from Coast Controls. The plant now uses 11 Coast guides on its 30 different production lines running virgin white, recycled white, Kraft, recycled Kraft and grease-proof papers.

According to David Weathers, engineer and maintenance manager at Duro's Jackson, Tenn. facility, "After the change, we documented significant quality improvements based on specific feedback from our employees and customers," Weathers said, "The all-air web guides were really a good choice for our converting operation. Every unit installed has performed absolutely maintenance-free. Plus," added Weathers, "they cost less than electric models."
