The standard gauge can be any gauge you trust, and it must be kept in a safe place, out of service, with the tube it was calibrated with.
The Digivac Model 100W battery-operated gauge is excellent for this purpose. (Battery operation is nice. Chances are, the day you are wrestling with a problem you would not be in the mood to look for an extension cord!)
Access ports with tee and mini ball valve at all gauge tube locations:
Tee (extruded 1/8" FFM)
Valve, Ball Miniature, 1/8" Npt male/female , McMaster #4264k44
Elbow, street, 1/8 Mpt brass, extruded (other tube must be stem down)
Hex pipe plug (more as a dust protector)
Thread tape If you are caught unprepared, call Digivac at 732.571.2300. Chances are we can get another gauge, or an emergency loaner, out the same day.
