Fuelled by a robust market for polymer-based window and fencing components (e.g., window frames, fencing panels) and working on the premise that high-throughput extruders (2000 lb/hr) often run at rates far below their capacity, CDS Inc. in Lachine, Que., recently developed and commercialized a dual post-extruder system for extrusion processors in the Fenestration industries. The system, branded FenestrandTM, comprises of two parallel vacuum-calibration tables, dual cleated haul-offs (pullers), and two tilt tables for product collection. The benefits are highlighted below: o The Dual line allows processors to maximize throughput of their extruders o Processors can run two of the same application or two different applications simultaneously o Processors save significant space on their plant floor o Process can execute quicker changeovers to meet their customer's tooling needs
