Dr. Rene Dupuis Receives William C. Cullen Award from ASTM International Roofing Committee



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.—ASTM International Committee D08 on Roofing and Waterproofing has presented the William C. Cullen Award to Rene Dupuis, Ph.D., principal at Structure Research Inc. in Middleton, Wis., for his outstanding contributions to international standards for roofing and waterproofing.



A member of ASTM International and Committee D08 since 1978, Dupuis works on several D08 subcommittees. He has received the D08 Award of Appreciation twice, and was honored with the Walter C. Voss Award in 2005 for his notable contributions in the field of building technology.



Dupuis earned his doctorate, as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees, in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. At Structural Research Inc., where he assumed his role in 1978, Dupuis specializes in structural engineering, building technology, roofing and waterproofing materials and systems, wind analysis and thermal insulation materials.



Outside ASTM International, Dupuis is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Construction Specifications Institute and the National Society of Professional Engineers. He received the J.A. Piper Award from the National Roofing Contractors Association in 2008, and the James Q. McCawley Award, the highest honor from the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association, in 1998.
