Dr. Ge, Director of American Packaging Corporation Center for Packaging Innovation, Accepts Grant from NASA

Rochester, NY - December 18, 2008, - The National Aeronautics and Space Administration has awarded Rochester Institute of Technology a contract for $101,237 for a six month study to develop polymer based packaging materials for protecting life support systems during extra vehicular activities (EVA) on lunar missions. The project will be led by Dr. Changfeng Ge, Director of the APC Center for Packaging Innovation. Ge will identify the appropriate materials and develop a R&D and manufacturing plan. Two graduate students will assist Dr. Ge on the project. Representatives from NASA's Johnson Space Center will visit RIT and tour the facilities midway through the project.

"We have been pleased with the positive activities taking place at the American Packaging Corporation Center for Packaging Innovation. NASA's choice of Dr. Ge to spearhead this project was excellent given his vast knowledge on polymers. APC is proud to support Dr. Ge and his team as they work on the NASA project," says American Packaging CEO and owner Peter Schottland.
