Doug Sharp Named President and CEO of Sartomer


EXTON, Pa., March 1, 2012 - Doug Sharp has been appointed President and CEO of Sartomer, Photocure Resins Business Unit of Arkema. He most recently served as Regional Group President of Arkema's Altuglas International PMMA and Methacrylates businesses in the Americas.

He began his career as an R&D engineer with Rohm and Haas in 1982. He worked for the company in the United Kingdom and later became the plant manager for the company's manufacturing facility in Bristol (Pennsylvania). He joined Elf Atochem in 1998 when the company bought out its joint venture with Rohm and Haas, assuming the role of Manufacturing Director for additives. He was promoted to Regional Group President with Altuglas International in 2003 and has held this post until his appointment today.

Doug Sharp holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) and a business management diploma from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently sits on the board of Drexel's College of Engineering Advisory Council.
