Press release date: September 6, 2006

The Jet-Stream(TM), High-Pressure Air or Liquid Coolant Thru tool holder and boring bar system will be exhibited at the IMTS conference from September 6-13,2006 McCormick Place, Chicago, IL USA. Dorian Tool will be located at Booth E-2873.

The concept of the Jet-Stream(TM) tool holder is to provide the ability to turn inserts at higher speeds and feeds. With advanced technologies and significant research, the patented Jet-Stream(TM) system is designed for use in all general turning applications from heavy roughing to high-speed finishing. The unique Dor-Lock clamping system provides holding security and precisely controls the velocity of the air or liquid coolant flow in one system.

"Combined, one action provides two results, Locking and Cooling. The Dor-Lock clamping system provides extreme rigidity of the insert, accurate indexing and repeatability of the insert. It is easily accessible and simple to replace. Using the Dor-Lock clamping system provides exceptionally improved control of the coolant; as it hits the insert precisely it assures directional control of the air or liquid coolant, maximizing productivity. With one simple action of rotating the screw clockwise, the Dor-Lock clamping system alone, pushes the clamp over the insert generating both a vertical locking force over the insert and a horizontal locking force of the insert against the wall of the holder. As a result, these features have a tremendous impact on chip control and longer tool life," said Dorian Tool President, Enrico Giannetti. While cutting at higher speeds, the increased air or liquid coolant velocity keeps the chips from adhering to the cutting edge and reduces the temperature with the increased lubricity. Thus improving quality and productivity, while reducing the cost of machining by extending the life of your insert.

The new Jet-Stream(TM) can replace any standard turning holder. All Jet-Stream(TM) products conform to industry standard ANSI or ISO specifications, use industry standard turning inserts and are available in multiple geometries.

"Since the introduction of our original Quadra Index Tool Post in 1982, Dorian Tool International has continued to expand its production line with some of the most advanced tools in the industry," Giannetti said. "The success of our business has never undermined the original commitment made to our customers in supporting productivity, quality and cost reduction."
