Press release date: November 17, 2008

Cincinnati, OH - The Universal Exterior Light Monitor from Doran Manufacturing continuously checks all of the rear exterior lights on a school bus, alerting the bus driver to any failures. The product has the capability to work with LED, incandescent or a combination of both types of lighting for both below and above the belt applications. This unique safety product can monitor four, eight, twelve or sixteen lights.

When a problem with the lighting develops, the position of the failed light on the monitor will illuminate, providing a visible alert to the driver of loose or cut connectors, failed wiring, blown fuses, or catastrophic light failures. Prompt notification of lighting problems allows drivers to identify and correct these issues before unsafe pupil transportation situations arise.

The monitors are fuse protected for accidental overloads. In addition, an optional remote faceplate, which offers the same features as the original model but with a dashboard mounted faceplate, is also available. The Doran Universal Exterior Light Monitor is warranted for two years.

"The Universal Exterior Light Monitor is just another example of Doran's continued commitment to safe pupil transportation," says General Manager Jim Samocki. "We've made the UBM product line robust and flexible enough to monitor virtually all lighting types with multiple wiring and fusing connections."

Cincinnati based Doran Manufacturing has been providing transportation safety products for school buses, commercial trucks and RVs for more than thirty-five years. In addition to LED and Incandescent Exterior Light Monitors, the company supplies Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems, Sleeping Child Check® monitors, Emergency Exit Monitors and a full range of LED lighting products.
