Donations to the PTDA Foundation Reach New Heights

Chicago, Ill. - February 3, 2009 - The PTDA Foundation set a new benchmark with its 2008 fund drive, raising $315,259, a 24 percent increase over the 2007 effort. A 38 percent increase in gifts of $5,000 or more coupled with 26 first-time donors fueled the fund drive's success in 2009.

Seven Industrial Careers Pathways® Alliance Partners - industrial distribution associations that share an interest in building the sales and customer service industrial distribution workforce - provided critical support to the PTDA Foundation. The Industrial Supply Association set a new benchmark with an investment of $10,000. The International Association of Plastics Distribution made a multi-year pledge, joining the National Fluid Power Association and ASA Education Foundation in making Stakeholder level investments

The highest level of giving, Partner Contributors, came from Tomkins Corporation Foundation and IDC-USA. The PTDA Foundation received a third contribution of $25,000 from Tomkins Corporation Foundation. IDC-USA, along with its members, contributed a total of $15,029.

BC Bearing Engineers ($10,000) and BDI/BDI Canada ($11,000) supported the PTDA Foundation at the Investor level. The BC Bearing Engineers gift sets a new standard of support from a single distributor

In 2008, the PTDA Foundation held a first-time Pledge-A-Thon, which reached out to smaller companies, and raised $9,000. The Foundation plans to continue the Pledge-A-Thon in 2009. Additionally, Heritage Society leaders made individual contributions totaling $5,250.
