MINNEAPOLIS, MN - January 20, 2006 -- Donaldson® Company, Inc. leading maker of industrial filtration systems, announced today that is has acquired AirCel® Corporation, a privately held manufacturer of dryers and purification equipment for compressed air and other gases.
"The acquisition of AirCel will dramatically strengthen our production capability and product offering to the compressed air and gas industry in North America," Jim Giertz, Senior Vice President of Donaldson's Industrial Filtration Solutions business, said. "By manufacturing in North America, we can cut lead times and realize several economic advantages. Our Donaldson® Ultrafilter® brand is a strong line of compressed air filtration products, and AirCel's dryer products extends our range of both refrigeration and regenerative dessicant dryers for our North American customers."
"AirCel's patented VariCel® refrigerant dryers perfectly complement the Donaldson Ultrafilter compressed air filters and coalescers," Mike Zarif, a co-founder and Vice-President, Engineering of AirCel, explained.
AirCel also manufactures N2Cel® nitrogen generators for use in tire inflation. "Using compressed nitrogen for tire inflation offers both safety and mileage advantages over normal compressed air," Robert Olson, co-founder and President of AirCel, stated. "We are pleased to work with a company that has the global reach and resources of Donaldson as we further develop our product offering."
