Material Handling Industry Discusses Value of MHEDA

Distributors and suppliers talk about how MHEDA helps their businesses.

Dewitt, NY: The MHEDA Journal Online (http://www.TheMhedaJournal.org), is the leading online magazine for the forklift, conveyor, storage & handling, and general material handling equipment industries. At the 56th annual MHEDA Convention in Phoenix, AZ, The MHEDA Journal spoke to 17 material handling distributors and suppliers about how MHEDA aids in their business. In a series of videos, members discuss the value of attending the MHEDA Convention, networking, MHEDA Education and MHEDA membership.

"At the MHEDA Convention, you get an incredible opportunity to meet a lot of manufacturers that you wouldn't normally meet," says Scott Lee, president of Conveyor Solutions. "I've had the chance to bring on three new manufacturers just last year and I know that it has helped my business." The MHEDA Convention is also a great opportunity for manufacturers to learn and improve. "This is the only Convention that we attend that is built around and structured for dealers. From a vendor standpoint that is great. A good quantity of customers and quality customers attend the MHEDA Convention," says Louis Coleman, sales and marketing manager at Autoquip.

Beyond the opportunity to attend Convention, MHEDA membership provides several other advantages that give members a leg-up on the competition. One of those advantages is MHEDA educational programs provided through MHEDA University. "I'm pursuing my MBA and you get a very big-picture view of business, but it doesn't tie into attributes that are specific to the material handling industry," says Nathan Andrews, vice president of Morse Manufacturing. "An MBA is helpful, but it won't do what MHEDA can do."

Frank Russo, North American general manager of sales and marketing at TCM America, sums up the MHEDA advantage. "MHEDA members can benefit from the intelligence of the network and the best practices that they can learn and enjoy. It improves their bottom line, productivity and value to the customer."
