Press release date: March 4, 2011

Florence, Kentucky - The Discover Mazak - Canada event at the Mazak Canadian Headquarters and Technology Center promises to be one that will give solid competitive advantages to those companies involved in manufacturing. As part of that opportunity, attendees will learn how to secure new work, gain useful insight into maintaining current work and discover how the Canadian Government can help grow manufacturing business.

Mazak Corporation Canada, its Headquarters and Technology Center, is located in Cambridge, Ontario. The special one-day event is scheduled for May 4 and will feature the latest innovative Mazak metal cutting solutions geared to specific part machining applications as they pertain to various industries, such as aerospace and automotive. Throughout the day of Discover Mazak - Canada, a wide variety of keynote-speaker presentations, interactive breakout sessions, kiosk presentations and real-world application machining demonstrations will be conducted between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Among the event's special highlighted presentation topics will be "How to do Business with Bombardier" - the Montreal, Canada, aerospace and rail transportation global manufacturing company. Representatives from the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development will also be on-hand for a presentation on how to take advantage of Government grants and financial assistance for capital acquisition and business expansion.

Kiosk presentations at Discover Mazak - Canada will cover Mazak's Optimum Plus service and support program, the Five Levels of Multi-Tasking Selector Tool, Mazak's unique MX Hybrid Roller Guide System, MAZATROL machine controls, and machine automation solutions such as the PALLETECH manufacturing system.

Discover Mazak - Canada will have on-hand the latest industry and part-specific machine tool technologies to help attendees develop and test new part processes. Attendees looking for Done-In-One part production capability will see it in action on Mazak's new INTEGREX j-200 Multi-Tasking machine featuring a 20-tool magazine instead of a conventional drum turret type and on the twin-turning spindle/twin-turret INTEGREX 400-IV ST Multi-Tasking machine with a 12,000-rpm milling spindle.

Mazak's affordable QUICK TURN SMART 250 Multi-Tasking machine, ideal for job shops and other high-production environments, and the QUICK TURN NEXUS 450-II M Multi-Tasking machine that allows shops to NC program the machine's tailstock will both be demonstrated cutting parts as well.

Under the automated systems umbrella, Discover Mazak - Canada attendees will see the new twin spindle/twin turret HYPER QUADREX 200MS Turning Center equipped with a gantry robot loader and bar feeder. The machine gives shops the capability to run both chuck and bar work in fully automated operations.

For multiple-surface, 5-axis simultaneous machining applications, Discover Mazak - Canada will be running demonstrations of the VARIAXIS 630 II Vertical Machining Center and of the new all-linear motor HYPER VARIAXIS 630 Vertical Machining Center featuring an ergonomic design and tilting/rotary table.

Focusing on automotive and aerospace machining applications, Mazak's HORIZONTAL CENTER NEXUS 4000 Horizontal Machining Center with two-pallet changer for non-stop production and the VERTICAL CENTER SMART 430 Vertical Machining Center able to use both EIA/ISO programs and conversational programming will be on display.

Additionally, Discover Mazak - Canada attendees can take advantage of the Canada Headquarters and Technology Center's regional industry expertise and its process and application engineering resources tailored to those and other industries. Engineers and technicians will be readily available to discuss all aspects of the manufacturing process, including cutting tools, workholding, automation, material handling, quality assurance, chip handling, coolant and hydraulics, safety, and software.
