New Forum Creates an Online Developer Community for Fingerprint Biometrics Information and End User Success

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug. 2 / -- Digital Persona, Inc., a leading provider of biometric authentication solutions for enterprise networks and commercial applications, today announced the creation of the online Digital Persona Developer Forum to facilitate the sharing of information and ideas between developer and integrator customers around the uses of fingerprint authentication technology in the marketplace. With the largest installed base of developer partners in the industry, Digital Persona is advancing innovation and adoption of fingerprint authentication in application development.

Digital Persona has created a community of developers around biometric growth in which they can share exciting new uses of fingerprint authentication in different industries utilizing a wide variety of software and hardware applications. In addition, development engineers who have purchased a Digital Persona Software Development Kit (SDK) can use the forum to ask questions while gaining a direct line of contact with peers that are integrating fingerprint authentication into their applications.

"Digital Persona has chosen to work closely with its developer community in order to truly shed light on the various ways fingerprint authentication technology is being utilized by the end user," said Chip Mesec, senior product marketing manager for Digital Persona. "Through our state-of-the-art SDKs and close communication, we have always offered our developers the ultimate support for their successful implementation. This forum is another step in strengthening our developer and integrator relationships that ultimately benefit the end user."

Digital Persona provides developers with the biometric tools they need to create commercial applications that deliver the security and convenience of fingerprint authentication.

SpeedLine Solutions, Inc. uses the DigitalPersona(R) Platinum SDK to integrate fingerprint authentication in its point-of-sale (POS) systems for pizzeria operators to lock down system security, ensure fast and secure employee login and accurate payroll, and make it easy to review who's doing what on the system. More than 70 percent of new SpeedLine POS customers over the past year have opted to go with fingerprint readers for security.

RG2 Solutions, Inc. uses a Digital Persona SDK to integrate fingerprint authentication in identity management and verification solutions in credit unions for customer-facing member transactions. RG2 also resells DigitalPersona Pro to credit unions for one-touch fingerprint authentication in the back-office to secure employee access to the network and other protected applications, eliminating the need for complex passwords.

"The online Developer Forum will provide us with some exciting ideas about how we can utilize biometric fingerprint solutions to best suit our customers' needs," said Roger Grant at RG2 Solutions. "The sharing of information around the various uses of fingerprint authentication technology will undoubtedly provide us with new insights that can help credit unions become more secure and save money."

Count Me In, LLC combines Digital Persona's SDK technology with other fingerprint technologies to create the most efficient fingerprint identification engine, integrating it with its automated time and attendance monitoring systems at an affordable price. Count Me In's flagship product, Timecard Monitor, utilizes this lightning fast ID fingerprint engine that can quickly recognize one person out of thousands and eliminates employee IDs, PINs, or swipe cards.

"We're looking forward to exchanging ideas amongst peers so we can better serve our customers' needs," said Neal Katz, vice president at Count Me In. "The information we learn about the different uses of fingerprint authentication will serve as a stepping stone in helping us create more robust biometric based applications."

The online Digital Persona Developer Forum ( www.digitalpersona.com/webforums ) is a moderated Internet forum that is free to access for all registered Digital Persona developers.
