Press release date: March 9, 2010

FONTANA, March 9, 2010 - Companies that expand and profit share during a recession are rare, if not amazing. At A&R Tarpaulins Inc., it's just business as usual.

"Last year we shared profits of over $56,000 with our employees," said Carmen Weisbart, president of the engineered fabric product manufacturing firm. "We hope to continue that trend this year."

Business is so robust at A&R, the manufacturer recently invested more than $67,000 to expand its facilities in Fontana. New workspace and renovated buildings are among the many upgrades the plant has undergone in the last few months.

A&R is also set to host a WCPA workshop March 12. The event, which is open to members of the fabric industry, will feature welding workshops, information and lectures.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer recently passed its ISO 9001and AS9100 certification review with zero corrections. That means A&R operates with the highest standards and employs quality business practices.

"Just because we are in a recession doesn't mean we can't be successful or profitable," said Bud Weisbart, A&R vice president. "Diligent work, having a good business plan and a solid, supportive team has helped us grow."

About A&R Tarpaulins Inc. Vice President, Bud Weisbart and his wife of 43 years, Carmen, President of A&R, own and operate the 46-employee manufacturing firm in Fontana. A&R Tarpaulins is the parent company of AR Tech and AR Industries and provides products and services for flight hardware, ground support to various aerospace companies providing satellite launches, architectural products and services for homes and businesses and industrial products for the transportation industry.
