Minneapolis, Minn., U.S.A. - Despatch Industries, the world's leading thermal processing equipment provider for over one hundred years, announces that the company has won an order for a custom, high-temperature, truck-in oven that will be utilized in the manufacture of high performance, energy-efficient transformers.
"Our customer for this project is manufacturing transformers that draw little power when idle," states Rolf Kragseth, Applications Engineer. "Typical transformers draw current and generate heat even when there is no load on them. This new technology offers significant energy savings compared to other transformers. We are very pleased that they chose Despatch to supply the critical equipment for this innovative application."
The custom, high-temperature (800°F) oven features modular construction and vertical lift doors on both ends for increased throughput. In addition to the oven, Despatch is also supplying a custom truck with busbar system that, when inserted into the oven, induces a magnetic field to anneal the transformer core. The truck operates on a chain drive for efficient loading and unloading.
