Minneapolis, Minn., U.S.A. - February 15, 2011 - Despatch Industries, the world's leading thermal technology and equipment provider, is pleased to announce that the company has named Dr. Ellen Cheng as General Manager of Despatch Industries Taiwan, Ltd. effective February 14. In her position, Dr. Cheng will be responsible for driving, managing and achieving Despatch's business objectives in Taiwan for the company's Solar, Carbon Fiber and Thermal Technology business groups.
"Dr. Cheng brings extensive domestic and international business experience," states Steve Oman, Director of Global Sales. "Ellen's professional background in sales, business development, R&D and operations management will be a tremendous asset to Despatch as we continue to invest and build upon our success in Taiwan. Dr. Cheng has over 14 years of experience. Most recently, Ellen was employed with 3i Systems Corp., an international company that provides automatic electro/photoluminescence, optical inspection and electrical testing equipment for photovoltaic cell makers, as well as automatic optical inspection equipment for TFT-LCD manufacturing fabrications. While at 3i, Ellen held the positions of Sales VP of China and Head of Solar Business. Prior to 3i, Ellen was the Research Manager at Underwriters Laboratories where she lead research projects to enhance product safety certifications programs for the photovoltaic, nanotechnology, lithium battery, fuel cell, printed circuit board and plastics industries. Dr. Cheng holds Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Chemistry from National Taiwan University.
