Delcam Strengthens FeatureCAM Team in Asia

Delcam has strengthened the management team for its FeatureCAM business in Asia with the appointment of Sandy Moffat as FeatureCAM Business Development Manager for the region. In addition, David You Bo has been promoted from Vice-General Manager of Delcam China to FeatureCAM Business Development Manager for Greater China, and Chai Kok Hoe has been given the equivalent responsibilities for South-East Asia. To increase the level of technical support for resellers and customers in the region, Belen de la Pena has been appointed FeatureCAM Channel Support Engineer for Asia.
This latest round of appointments continues the growth of the FeatureCAM operation since its acquisition by Delcam last year. It follows the doubling in size of the North American support team earlier this year, and the similar increase in the number of development staff at the Salt Lake City offices.
With the expansion, Delcam USA President, Glenn McMinn expects to see faster growth in sales throughout Asia, building on the success the company has seen in Japan. "We now have a customer base of over 600 users in Japan, including top-name companies such as Nissan Motors, Canon, Toshiba and Yasda Precision Tools," claimed Mr. McMinn. "Most of the Delcam resellers in Asia have now completed their training in the sale and support of FeatureCAM products, so we are now ready to repeat our Japanese success over the whole region."
Mr. McMinn sees particular opportunities in China and India for the FeatureCAM range. "The rate of economic growth in both countries makes them obvious choices," he admitted. "In addition, the shortage of skilled CAM programmers makes FeatureCAM's ease of use and high level of automation especially valuable to companies in the countries that are looking to increase their productivity."
