DeWalt Launches Heavy Duty Spade Bits, Self-Feed Bits, and Power Ship Auger Bits

February 2007 - DeWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools and accessories announced the launch of its heavy-duty spade bits (DW1570-DW1586; DW1590-DW1595), self-feed bits (DW1630-DW1649) and power ship auger bits (DW1665-DW1676, DW1680-DW1692). Available in early 2007, the new wood drilling accessories provide end users with longer bit life, faster speed and improved durability. The new bits are ideal for all professional contractors including residential electricians, residential plumbers, framers, concrete forming and other professional construction end users drilling holes in wood.
HEAVY-DUTY SPADE BITS
The new spade bits from DeWALT have been redesigned with an optimized cutting geometry to allow end users to drill faster holes. The spade bits are equipped with patented chamfered corners to offer professional end users increased longevity. In addition they have a heavy-duty shank that provides maximum durability in wood. The new DeWALT spade bits are available in 23 sizes ranging from 3/8" to 1 ½" in diameter and will fit all ¼" quick-change systems.
HEAVY-DUTY SELF FEED BITS
The new self-feed bits from DeWALT offer an optimized cutting geometry for longevity. They are heat-treated for improved durability to help withstand wear in nails. They also have a cutter design that provides end users with the ability to re-sharpen them easily and the self-feeding screw provides fast material penetration. The self-feed bits are also equipped with a 7/16" ball groove quick-change shank. DeWALT offers 13 bit sizes from 1" to 4 5/8" in diameter, as well as, two sets and two extensions.
HEAVY-DUTY POWER SHIP AUGER BITS
The new power ship auger bits from DEWALT are designed with a hardened steel edge that is easy to re-sharpen. To ensure longer life, DEWALT developed a dual cutting edge that maximizes durability when encountering nails during drilling. Additionally, the auger bits are equipped with a self-feed spur for fast material penetration and a hollow center flute for aggressive chip removal. Like the self-feed bits, the ship auger bits have a 7/16" ball groove quick-change shank and are available in 25 different lengths and diameters from 9/16" to 1-1/2".
