Davron Technologies, Inc. Supplies a Natural Gas Heated Vertical Oven for Curing Automotive Pistons

Davron announces the shipment of a Custom Vertical Curing Oven to a worldwide leader in the automotive piston industry. This vertical oven cures a friction reducing coating on automotive pistons.

The oven is constructed of 5" thick steel insulated walls and has a maximum operating temperature of 500 degrees F. Parts are loaded into the custom product tooling via a pick and place system that is part of the oven design. The pistons are indexed through the heated chamber in a vertical orientation, making multiple passes, then travel in a horizontal orientation through a cooling zone and are unloaded upon exiting the system.

"This system includes the latest in PLC technology" says David Craft, Executive Vice President of Davron. "This oven configuration allows the customer to achieve the required dwell time of the process while conserving very valuable floor space."

The unique airflow distribution system provides a very even airflow and uniform temperature throughout the oven chamber. It also allows the customer to maintain a very tight temperature requirement of 71 degrees F in the plant space where the oven is in operation.

"We have been very successful in helping many companies with oven solutions in this industry with this type of oven system," says Mr. Craft. "We at Davron strive every day to provide our customers with the best oven solutions possible".
