Press release date: June 23, 2014
Go with dataTaker for a Real Value
CHESTERLAND OH — You may have decided to buy a data logger to optimize your process and save on costs and time, but you'll find that the data you'll get using a lot of low-cost models is inaccurate and hard to work with—you get what you pay for! You might be tempted to go with the cheapest manufacturer or model but beware: when the price goes down so does the quality of your data! What's your product worth to you? If you're a manufacturer, your reputation for quality is on the line. Make sure you get accurate data in real time with an Intelligent Data Logger from dataTaker. As dataTaker's Master Distributor for North America, we at CAS DataLoggers know these products and we'll make sure you get up and running with your project ASAP.
The bestselling dataTaker DT80 Intelligent Data Logger features all the benefits of automated monitoring in a single device. This intelligent alarm and control system features universal analog inputs to connect with nearly any sensor to log nearly any physical or electrical value required. For example the dataTaker can record Temperature, Voltage, Current, 4-20mA Loops, Resistance, Bridges, Strain Gauges, Frequency, Digital, Serial and Calculated Measurements. As opposed to products forcing you to buy multiple expansions and modules, a dataTaker is the only piece of hardware you'll need. Additionally these industrial loggers are built to last for years with a rugged construction that'll stand up to harsh environments.

Choose Your Communications
Datataker models aren't cut-rate stopwatches, they're sophisticated solutions packed with features and a complete communications suite featuring USB, Serial and Ethernet ports enabling you to connect locally, remotely, or over the Internet.
Unlike many data loggers which only support USB transfer, our dataTakers are easily accessible on your local network to save you a trip with automatic data transfer via FTP. With the correct network setup, you can remotely monitor the dataTaker DT80 from anywhere in the world! As another remote monitoring option, dataTaker's Cellular Modem model makes long-distance communication easy. Say you need to establish a temperature profile or diagnose a voltage problem with your electrical equipment. DataTaker Series 3 Intelligent Universal Data Loggers record real-time measurements so you don't miss the important data you need. These smart dataloggers also offer powerful alarm and programming capabilities allowing them to process measurements and initiate actions on their own. Our dataTaker loggers can send and receive data via MODBUS which allows them to aggregate data from PLCs, control systems, and even other dataTakers.
No Memory Cards Needed
Early on while you're bargain-hunting with a large manufacturer the price looks low but they'll often find a way to tack on extra costs: as an example if you want to actually store data then you'll need to buy a separate memory card. With a dataTaker you don't have to use expensive and replaceable cards to store your data— for extended logging you can record directly onto the large internal memory or onto USB. DataTaker models have up to 10 million data points in user-defined memory so you can log as much or as little as you need with independent control of schedule size and mode. Once the memory is full, you can set the dataTaker to automatically overwrite or stop logging.
Software: Managing Your Data
When it comes to data collection, it's not only the quality of your data but also how easily you can work with it. Many leading data loggers are confusingly hard to program, especially for first-time users. Badly-designed software can be a real problem: at best it might take you a while to learn it or you may have to pay extra for the functionality you assumed the basic version would have. Meanwhile all dataTaker loggers include the popular dEX software which is easy to learn and allows quick creation of logging schedules to automate your process. Datataker dEX is a built-in web interface allowing users to configure the datalogger, access logged data, and see real-time measurements as mimics or in a list using a web browser. The Windows Explorer-style interface is simple to navigate and configure, getting you started on your project ASAP.
