Dassault Systèmes' DELMIA UltraPaint Selected by Aerobotix to Reduce Lead Engineering Time and Improve Plant Floor Productivity

Robotic Simulation Tool Used in Army Humvee Specialty Coating Applications

Auburn Hills, MI., USA, June 12, 2007  Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced today that its DELMIA UltraPaint robotic solution has been selected for use at Aerobotix, Inc., in Huntsville, AL. Aerobotix, a robotic coating system integrator, will be using the solution to perform robotic paint path programming for a U.S. Army Humvee (HMMWV for High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle) depot level maintenance operation.

''Ours is a complex application that requires the development of numerous paint paths for the robotic coating system in order to apply primers and topcoats in both single-color and camouflage paint configurations,'' says Daniel Sample, Aerobotix Robotics Engineer. ''After analyzing various options, we determined the DELMIA UltraPaint software was the best solution to help us improve manufacturing quality, accuracy, and profitability.''

DELMIA UltraPaint is a physics-based, scalable robotic simulation solution for modeling and off-line programming of complex, multi-device robotic paint cells that comes with a complete set of painting simulation tools. Spray gun and paint attributes can be entered into the painting device and the results can be graphic
