DTS Announces DTS-HD Immersive Audio to Be Added to DivX Software


CALABASAS, Calif. - DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio solutions and audio enhancement technologies, today announced that it is partnering with DivX, an innovator of digital video solutions, to integrate DTS-HD® audio encoding and decoding into the upcoming DivX® 10 software release.  This collaboration introduces the first software product that enables the creation and playback of DivX video, in HEVC up to 4K, featuring DTS-HD audio on both Windows and Mac. In addition to DivX Player and DivX Converter supporting DTS-HD audio, the latest version of DivX Web Player will also support video streaming with DTS-HD audio to any web browser.

DTS-HD technology is a high performance discrete audio codec designed specifically to enable streaming services to deliver content to connected devices in immersive surround sound.
