Diversified Power International
414 Century Ct.
Piney Flats, TN, 37686
USA

Press release date: March 9, 2006

PINEY FLATS, Tenn. - Diversified Power International is offering a complete line of medical and mobility solutions that are designed to use less energy and still give batteries a complete charge. Featuring efficiency ratings greater than 90 percent, these customized offerings increase battery life, resulting in reduced maintenance costs.

In addition to being in compliance with U.S. and European standards, DPI's medical and mobility products feature an ETL product safety listing and conform to medical standards set forth by the Canadian Standards Association and Underwriters Laboratories Inc.

"Our competitors were not providing a product that met our customers' needs for medical and mobility applications," said Tony Trigiani, vice president/engineering manager for DPI. "When compared to other products in the medical and mobility markets, these units feature greater efficiency ratings and charging options for improved versatility."

DPI's mobility solutions include a self-contained portable power supply and charger, and a multi-chemistry battery charger. The self-contained unit is designed for non-patient contact medical devices, and it is capable of operating a device and charging a battery simultaneously. The multi-chemistry charger contains a mode selector switch and an optional USB or RS-232 port.

The company's line of medical products includes a medically approved charger module that is available in 12, 24, 36 or 48 volts and features programmable amperage. In addition, the company's medically approved single channel and 4 channel DC-DC converters boast efficiency ratings as high as 97 percent. These converters are designed with overload and short circuit protection on all channels. Other medical products include a 4-channel actuator control board, 120-volt AC inverter and interfacing accessories that include an input/output control board and a display overlay.

DPI's technology provides extended run times and better overall system efficiency and performance. It often allows manufacturers to reduce costs because they can use smaller batteries to meet power requirements.

Diversified Power International, headquartered in Piney Flats, Tenn., manufactures intelligent battery charging systems utilizing new technologies and innovations developed in-house. Formed in 1997 by a team of veteran battery charger designers, the company manufactures in Piney Flats.

The company offers standard inventory of high-volume, cost-targeted, off-the-shelf products, as well as custom designs for lead acid batteries, nickel metal hydride, nickel cadmium and lithium-ion batteries. DPI offers custom electronics, custom software, enclosures, manufacturing and testing.
