DENSO to Exhibit at the 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition

KARIYA (Japan) - DENSO Corporation will exhibit its latest technologies and products that connect people, vehicles, and society at the 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2012, DENSO booth: W1-W06). The show will be held at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing and will be open to the public from Friday, Apr. 27 to Wednesday, May 2.

Connecting People, Vehicles, and Society

DENSO's main exhibit, the Synchronized Concept, is a cockpit simulator that allows visitors to experience how people, vehicles, and society will "connect" to each other in real time to make driving more safe, convenient, and enjoyable. Technologies the cockpit will feature include: driver drowsiness detection and a points of interest (POI) display that will show rest areas or other POIs on the navigation systems. This cockpit also will show how consumers can select instrument cluster design display through the internet.

Other DENSO products and technologies that connect people, vehicles, and society to be displayed include: Image Recognition technology, which identifies road signs using on-board cameras and announces them to drivers; ARPEGGIO, a service that connects Smartphones and on-board devices to allow users to safely use Smartphone applications; and wireless communication devices for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) technology.

DENSO has provided its V2X wireless communication devices to various demonstration experiments involving collaboration among automakers and government agencies in Japan, the U.S., and Europe. The company also conducted its first V2X technology field test in China in collaboration with Tongji University (Shanghai) in this March.

In addition to these technologies, DENSO will exhibit its products for hybrid vehicles including inverters, DC-DC converters, and battery-monitoring units, which will be essential in the coming age of electric power vehicles.

DENSO also will display spark plugs and in-vehicle plasma cluster ion generators, which help clean cabin air. In addition, DENSO will display an electronic onboard recorder device that is planned to be sold in China for commercial vehicles.

DENSO regards China as an important market and has recently decided to expand its technical center in China to improve customer service and product competitiveness by designing more products locally and offering more market-specific designs. DENSO will continue to offer appealing products to customers and contribute to the advancement of China's automotive society.
