DENSO Sales California Names New Vice President


LONG BEACH, Calif. - DENSO Sales California (DSCA) has named Kazu Yanagawa vice president of DSCA's Materials Control Group effective August 1st. Yanagawa oversees the Materials Operation, Inventory Control, Procurement, Logistics, and Kaizen (continuous improvement) departments.

Yanagawa joined DSCA in 1985 as a member of Procurement department. In 1987, he transferred to the Production Control department to support various production operations. Yanagawa moved to the Materials Management department in 2003.

"As vice president, my primary goals will be to strengthen the inventory control and warehouse operation functions", said Yanagawa, "I will work towards improving the total supply chain".

Established in 1971 as the first overseas affiliate of the DENSO Corporation, DSCA is an automotive components sales and distribution company that employs 245 people in Long Beach, Calif. Sales for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2006 totaled US$276.8 million. The company's product lines includes both heavy duty and automotive alternators and starters, oil, cabin and air filters, spark plugs, AC compressors, oxygen sensors, ignition wires, fuel pumps and wiper blades. DSCA supplies parts for original equipment service dealers and for the independent aftermarket service centers and retailers. In addition, the company distributes heavy-duty diesel and electrical components, portable commercial air-conditioning units and industrial robots.
