Auburn Hills, Michigan, September 23, 2008 - DE-STA-CO will showcase a variety of workholding and automation products at the annual Assembly Technology Expo. Headlined by products from its CAMCOn line, the industry leader in material handling solutions will be located in booth 51 7 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois from September 23 - 25.
DE-STA-CO's family of innovative CAMCO Ring lndex Drives are designed to meet customers' exacting requirements, Featuring dramatically larger through-holes to accommodate a variety of automated machinery and equipment, the new index ring drives allow machine builders to have a larger number of workstations for the assembly of more complex products. Additionally, the size of the through-holes ensures that the outer periphery of automated machinery is available for operator accessibility and additional auxiliary equipment.
The company's CAMCO Modular Tabletop Precision Link Conveyors are ideal for the specialty automation industry. This advanced product line enables designers and engineers to conceptualize, cost, design, build and deliver automation systems quickly.
Assembledto- order using standard pre-manufactured components, precision link conveyors can provide up to 400 workstations for the assembly of multiple-part products such as automotive fuel pumps, disposable medical devices and electrical switches. DE-STA-CO's new 9500 series of pneumatic swing clamps is ideal for installations where hydraulic power is not suitable. Equipped with sensing capability that allows for precise control and monitoring of the clamping position, the 9500 series exerts a clamping force ranging from 41 Ibs. to 21 2 Ibs. without deforming delicate parts. Ideal for harsh application environments due to its fully enclosed design, the 9500 series is also well suited for secondary manufacturing operations and is uniquely adaptable to welding and assembly operations.
DE-STA-CO will also showcase its modular DCM-MI conveyor system, an asynchronous conveyor that guides workpieces through necessary workstations according to their assembly sequence. The single belt system allows modifications and additions to be made quickly and easily for increased flexibility. Designed to accommodate workpiece pallets as large as 8.86 x 8.86 in and 3.66 Ibs, the modular DCM-MI conveyor is available in chassis widths of 4.14, 5.52, 7.29 and 9.85 in, and is driven by a 3 x 230/400 V central spur gear drive with variable speed.
Another featured product is the DPP series of parallel grippers, which provides excellent parallelism and accuracy between the gripper mounting and jaw surfaces. Equipped with DIRECTCONNECT(TM)te chnology, the gripper series uses its patented " Dual-V" roller bearings to provide low-friction, high repeatability and excellent performance in holding delicate parts. This design also allows for the implementation of longer gripper finger lengths when compared to other grippers within the same size and weight ranges.
The 2000 series of DE-STA-CO's horizontal handle hold-down action clamps offers an average of twice the holding capacity of legacy models in the same envelope. With maximum holding capacity ranging from 295 to 1,680 pounds, the clamps ensure applicability across a wide range of operational demands. Additionally, the unique patented design prevents spindle slippage and provides increased hand clearance in the open position, improving ergonomics and safety.
