San Jose, CA, 95131
USA

Press release date: November 4, 2012

Cyber Switching, a division of C.H. Reynolds Electric, is providing assistance to PGE customers by a state of the art, cost effective solution for commercial and residential building infrastructure enabling advanced energy management by The ePower Management System.

San Jose, CA, – Cyber Switching is offering energy management assistance following the PG&E announcement that it will raise peak time rates as it transitions customers from the current “flat rate” billing plan to a new “time of use” billing plan; effective this December.

The new billing plan is reported to impact both business and residential customers with the potential of driving up customer rates during peak times typically occurring between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

This PG&E rate increase is on the heels of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Peak Day Pricing rate schedule for agricultural and industrial customers. PG&E defines Peak Day Pricing as a rate plan that encourages customers to conserve energy when temperatures, market prices, capacity or grid reliability conditions exist.

The increased “time of use” rates pushes PG&E customers to both understand and seek alternatives to conserve energy while controlling and reducing costs.

Cyber Switching responds to the new PG&E rate increase with  their ePower Manager technology, now CA Title 24 certified, stating “the ePower Manager's effective energy management system is the ideal solution to the PG&E rate change; providing an easily installed system that controls power (load) and monitors energy consumption in real time, on multiple circuits.” Chuck Reynolds, Founder of CH Reynolds Electric, explains, “PG&E customers can now have a simple and affordable energy management system helping them to cut energy cost and participate in PG&E incentive programs to  avoid high use penalty pricing  by The ePower Manager's patented virtual technology."

By the ePower Manager’s capabilities, including programmable, scheduled or manual, on/off control of multiple circuits while, monitoring current supplies from each circuit or outlet, users   conserve energy while controlling and reducing costs. The system allows users to set high and low current alarms, and usage notices; enhanced by Cyber Switching’s patented ‘virtual circuit breaker’ for added protection, affording the user to set limits on each outlet or circuit to a more granular value than the standard circuit breaker will allow.

PG&E’s residential, commercial and industrial customers benefit by ePower Manager that will enable property managers of small and medium size complexes to monitor and control energy with the added provision of real energy use billing data vs. billing per square foot.

The ePower Manager is offered as a turnkey solution to the new PG&E “time of use” billing plan providing a single ePower Manager in an easy to install enclosure, including the simple command and control software, to customers, with a typical ROI within one year of installation. Consumers that are interested in the benefits provided by The ePower Manager are advised to contact Peter Rugato or Jason Bright at Cyber Switching for more information.
