The Use of Finite Element Modeling in Thermal Packaging Design
Edison, NJ - February 14, 2012 - http://www.cryopak.com/ - Cryopak, leader in cold chain packaging, has confirmed the date of their winter webinar for Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 11:30 p.m. EST. Landon Halloran, Finite Element Thermal Analyst at Cryopak, will present the webinar titled, The Use of Finite Element Modeling in Thermal Packaging Design.
Finite element analysis (FEA) is a computational technique used in the simulation of complex physical phenomena such as heat transfer. It involves the division of a digital model into small domains in which the relevant physical equations can be calculated.
"Finite element thermal modeling of Cryopak's thermal packaging solutions enhances the design process by allowing a large variety of design options to be investigated, decreasing the need for test chamber time, and allowing design work to be carried out without a prototype," Halloran said.

Landon Halloran holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of Victoria in Victoria, BC. In 2010, he received a Masters of Science in materials physics from McGill University in Montreal, QC. Landon joined Cryopak in March 2011 and is in charge of thermal modeling within the cold chain development engineering group.
