Crestron Showcases Integrated by Design(TM) Lighting Control & Energy Management Solutions at NECA 2012

Crestron Helps Electrical Contractors Deliver a True Energy Efficient Building

Crestron is giving National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) 2012 attendees the opportunity to see Crestron Integrated by Design(TM) lighting control and energy management solutions on display and learn what's new for retrofit projects and new construction. The booth will showcase several solutions that allow electrical contractors to use fewer wires, quickly and easily install the solutions, and save time and money as a result. The manufacturer of integrated technology will also participate in the NECA session, "Lighting Controls for the Rest of Us," which takes the complexity and challenges out of technology for lighting, occupancy sensors, and daylighting controls with simple packaged solutions.

"We're bringing lighting, temperature, and technology together so you can get accurate data and manage energy usage across the entire building," said Mike Malone, Crestron VP of Commercial Lighting Controls. "Facilities can now benchmark energy use so they can actually measure, compare, and reduce consumption. No other company even comes close to what we're delivering."

As energy codes and guidelines change, designers, builders, and engineers can no longer rely on yesterday's design models. Creating an efficient building that meets the energy requirements of today, and is adaptable to meet those of the future, requires a holistic view of all building systems.

Today, electrical contractors are relied upon more heavily for building design and maintenance. By incorporating integrated technology into a facility, contractors have the opportunity to adapt and extend the building's capabilities, resulting in increased customer satisfaction and revenue.

Crestron will exhibit several new products at NECA that enable integrated building management including:

DALI Ballasts

Crestron Green Light® DALI Ballasts provide architects, designers, engineers and building owners with incredible flexibility in building and lighting design, both in new construction and in retrofits. Unique to Crestron DALI ballasts is the optional power monitoring feature. "The ability to measure, monitor, and manage power to each light fixture, while enabling daylight harvesting and load shedding, makes it easy to combine architectural lighting control and energy management on one platform," said Malone.

Green Light Power Meter

The Green Light Power Meter logs overall electricity usage in real time. Facilities managers and building owners can now accurately measure and monitor all electricity coming into the building. Actual power usage data is then transferred to a Crestron control system over Ethernet where it can be displayed on a touch screen, laptop, or Apple® and Android(TM) mobile devices for easy viewing. Armed with this substantial data, rather than estimates, managers can make intelligent and informed energy savings decisions across the building and campus.

Fusion EM(TM)

Fusion EM Energy Management Software helps measure, monitor, manage, and control lighting, HVAC systems, and energy usage in every room of every building, all from one convenient interface. Automate daily functions and schedule events such as temperature, shades and lighting level set points, demand response settings, global lighting and climate control for unoccupied spaces, and more. Integrate with building management systems and monitor historical and real-time energy usage from a centralized dashboard.

Crestron 3-Series(TM) Control Systems with onboard BACnet®/IP support

Crestron 3-Series control systems provide a scalable, IP-based platform for implementing fully integrated building management and automation. Built-in BACnet/IP support enables seamless integration with HVAC and existing building management systems. All systems can now run independently and communicate with each other on the same high-powered Crestron platform, creating a truly smart building. Using Crestron 3-Series control systems, integrated control of lighting, shades, HVAC, AV, BMS, security, IT, and other connected systems now becomes faster, simpler and significantly more efficient.

"With our native BACnet over IP capability the fully integrated building is easily, economically, and quickly delivered so we can meet any projects ROI goals," added Malone.

Crestron Green Light Integrated Lighting System (GLPAC)

Engineered for maximum energy-savings in sustainable environments, GLPAC Green Light Integrated Lighting System provides a complete, scalable lighting and energy management solution in a compact, affordable package. Eliminating the shortcomings of standalone designs, a single GLPAC enables switching and dimming for up to four rooms, daylight harvesting, and occupancy sensing. GLPAC controls four to eight channels of dimmable or switched fluorescent loads. Each unit can control a single room or up to four independent rooms.

Crestron Green Light Power Pack w/infiNET EX Wireless (GLPP)

Make more rooms energy efficient with Green Light Power Pack with infiNET EX. This low-cost, intelligent wireless lighting pack controls lights based on occupancy and natural light in any room. Green Light Power Pack communicates intelligently with photocells, occupancy sensors, and control systems to automatically control lighting and save energy. Built-in power monitoring tracks the real time energy usage of each Green Light Power Pack, delivering actual usage statistics to a Crestron control system
