Cover to Protect Emergency Switches and Keypads
October 25, 2005 The STI Mini Stopper®, a multipurpose cover with horn, has been helping protect keypads, emergency buttons, etc. around the world for more than 25 years. Without restricting legitimate access, this cover protects smaller flush mounted units from accidental activation. The strong, durable construction takes the toughest knocks while it guards against accidental or intentional physical damage. It can also protect against dirt, dust and grime with the use of a gasket.
This Mini Stopper (STI-6600-G) is designed for use with single gang keypads, light switches or emergency shutdown switches. It consists of a tamperproof, clear polycarbonate shield and frame that fits easily over the unit it is protecting. For additional security, the cover is equipped with a 9 VDC horn. When the cover is lifted to gain access to the protected unit, the battery powered alarm emits a piercing 105 dB sound. Immediate attention is drawn to the area and a prankster will either run or be caught.
Cover shown has a green horn housing which can be labeled to your need. Also available in blue, yellow or red.
A conduit spacer is available for surface mount applications which will accommodate conduit or an exposed backbox.
Mini Stopper has been tested and approved by UL, cUL, ADA and MEA. The cover is UV-stabilized against discoloration and carries a lifetime warranty against breakage of the polycarbonate in normal use.
