PEACHTREE CITY, GA., August 15, 2007 - Cooper Wiring Devices' Watertight Receptacles, the latest addition to its line of watertight devices, has been named a Product of the Year from EC&M: Electrical Construction & Maintenance Magazine, while also taking home a "Best of the Best" marketing award from TED: The Electrical Distributor Magazine.
Cooper Wiring Devices' Watertight Receptacles won a "Best of the Best" award from TED Magazine in the New Product Launch category for its "Target the Best" campaign. The campaign included a 12-page color brochure, a sample kit containing the product, a targeted direct mail piece, press release and ads in trade magazines.
TED Magazine chose six judges, all professionals with experience in marketing communications and the electrical industry, to sift through more than 365 entries to determine the "Best of the Best" winners for each of 10 categories. The annual awards recognize marketing excellence and creativity across the entire electrical industry.
Cooper's Watertight Receptacles' glass-reinforced nylon exterior shell and cover that offer impact- and chemical-resistant protection was also chosen for "Product of the Year" recognition from EC&M Magazine, one of the electrical industry's top honors of excellence in new product development.
Its self-closing, spring-loaded hinged cover helps contractors prevent contamination and corrosion when not in use, while also providing users with protection up to 1,000 psi water spray in a range of applications from wet locations and hosedown areas to manufacturing facilities.
For the past seven years EC&M Magazine has recognized innovation and excellence in product development in the electrical industry by awarding a Product of the Year. Seven judges - including consulting/project engineers, electrical supervisors and technicians, and electrical contractors - evaluated the numerous product submissions to select a winner for each of 24 categories.
With the addition of the Watertight Receptacles to its line of Watertight Devices, which already includes Straight Blade Watertight Plugs, Connectors and Receptacles and Watertight Locking Devices, Cooper Wiring Devices has provided a complete turnkey, watertight device solution for customers.
Cooper Wiring Devices' watertight receptacles will now compete with the other finalists for the 2007 EC&M Product of Year Platinum, Gold and Silver Awards which will be determined in the near future by an online voting process on the EC&M Web site.
