Cooper Notification Introduces Industry's First LED Notification Appliances

Patented LED technology provides unmatched optical performance with industry's lowest current draw.

LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Cooper Notification, a leading supplier of Life Safety and Mass Notification System (MNS) solutions, is excited to announce the introduction of the industry's first LED notification appliances. Cooper Notification's Wheelock Exceder(TM) Series expands to include LED horn strobes, strobes and horns in one of the smallest, most compact single gang designs. Cooper Notification is a solution platform of Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE), a global provider of electrical solutions.

As the first LED notification appliances to be UL listed for both public and private mode Life Safety applications, Cooper Notification's patented technology provides the industry's lowest current draw. It allows for energy savings of up to 52 percent compared to competitive models. Using LED as the strobe light source, the product incorporates high efficiency optics to minimize current draw. This allows for a greater number of appliances on the notification appliance circuit and fewer power supplies.

"Committed to providing significant energy savings to customers through innovative solutions, Cooper Notification is proud to offer this breakthrough optical design," said Scott Hearn, President, Cooper Notification. "With our new LED notification appliances, customers can feel confident that we are not only providing best-in-class efficiency, but reducing material and overall system costs. For buildings looking to go green, it's the pinnacle of Life Safety and energy efficiency."

The Wheelock Exceder LED horn strobes, strobes and horns feature one of the industry's smallest footprints along with a sleek, modern low-profile design. In addition to energy savings, installers will benefit from a wide range of features, including several candela settings, a single-gang design, four convenient mounting options and the ability to change settings without a single tool - all designed to reduce total cost of ownership.

Cooper Industries delivers a wide range of energy-saving solutions across multiple product categories. Whether it's high-performance fluorescents, LED technology, occupancy sensors, lighting controls or power demand management products, Cooper Industries leads the way to a better tomorrow for its customers and their communities.
