Continental Steel & Tube Company Signs Sales Representation Agreement
Fort Lauderdale - March 11, 2008 - Don T. Ascione, President of Continental Steel & Tube Company (CS&T) announced today that CS&T has signed an exclusive sales agency agreement with Bharat Aluminum Company Ltd. (BALCO.) This agreement entitles CS&T to all marketing rights and sales responsibilities for all of BALCO's Hot Rolled (Temper F - as rolled) aluminum coils in the United States.
Continental Steel & Tube Company was selected by BALCO from a long list of North American sales agencies because of CS&T's distinguished sales and marketing experience with proprietary metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, nickel, high temperature alloys, titanium, copper and brass. Since 1985, CS&T has been well known worldwide for its distribution of these products to the commercial, medical, industrial and aerospace industries.
BALCO, a division of Vedanta Resources Plc, an LME-listed metals and mining conglomerate active in the areas of Aluminum, Copper and Zinc in the UK, India and Australia, has significantly expanded its hot rolled aluminum coil production capacity and recently became India's largest producer of aluminum. This surplus production capacity is very good news for U.S. re-rollers who have limited or insufficient in-house casting or hot rolling capacity. According to Ascione, CS&T can now offer up to 1,000 MT per month of high quality aluminum alloy grades in the 1000 series, 3000 series, 4000 series and 8000 series to the U.S. market. New production and shipments to all navigable U.S. ports are available immediately.
