Continental Products Corp. has manufactured the world's largest rotary drum batch mixer. Continental Rollo-Mixer ® Model No. 132-1286/50s was shipped from Wisconsin at the end of August 2007 to the port of Houston. This massive batch mixer rotates at only 2 rpm and will uniformly blend 65,000 lb. batches of friable, cube-like particles in 3 minutes. The rotary drum batch mixer was constructed in 304 Stainless Steel and is equipped with a 100 hp Motor and Variable Frequency Drive. It is intrinsically safe for CE Compliance to meet stringent European Safety Standards.
On September 2nd, the mixer was placed into the hull of the cargo ship CC Hunter and sailed across the Atlantic. The Rollo-Mixer arrived in Europe on September 17th, 2007. This Mark VII Rollo-Mixer ® will blend 65,000 lb batches for a major chemical company in Europe.

The batch mixer's dimensions are: 19' OAL, 16' OAW, and 14'-6" OAH and weighs 52,000 Lbs. Effective batch mixing volume is 1,286 cu. ft. The Rollo-Mixer's compact design has a relatively small footprint, which allows for substantial space savings.
Over the years, Continental has manufactured giant rotary drum batch mixers for a variety of industries. Including; 37,000 lb batches of animal health products, 34,000 lbs. of refractory blends, 32,000 lbs. of soy polymer powders, 28,000 lbs. of Magnesium Oxide blends and 22,000 lbs. of plastic pellets. Companies are able to test the Rollo-Mixer in a 10 cu ft capacity machine and scale up their process 1:1 from pilot tests to production runs.
