Consumer Electronics Association Releases Digital America 2006

Annual Book Compiles Key Trends and Stats on Consumer Electronics Industry

ARLINGTON, Va.-- Sept. 1, 2006--The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®) published Digital America 2006, an educational resource for retailers, manufacturers and consumers about the consumer electronics (CE) industry. The annual publication details the strong growth of the CE industry and offers trends, market research data and analysis on product categories such as accessories, audio, digital imaging, gaming, home networking, home theater, mobile in-vehicle electronics, video and wireless communications.

Digital America 2006 also chronicles the milestones of the CE industry with a timeline of significant events as well as a brief history of major technologies as they emerged. Beginning with the discovery of electricity, the advent of TV and even the rise of the microchip, the understanding of when these technologies came to fruition serves as a valuable backdrop to the market analysis for each product category.

Digital America 2006 is available free for CEA members and can be found at the member's only website. For non-members, print copies and CD-ROMs are available for purchase for $49.99.
