MATTHEWS, N.C. - Conbraco Industries, producer of ApolloŽ ball valves and other flow control products, is showing support for industry-promoted "greener" construction practices by joining the Green Mechanical Council.

Also known as GreenMech, the Wisconsin-based not-for-profit organization welcomes manufacturers, labor unions, contractors, consultants, educators and others devoted to the use of mechanical systems that reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The council promotes sustainable and eco-friendly plumbing, HVACR and electrical systems in new and existing structures.

"At Conbraco, we believe those involved in supplying mechanical systems can both produce quality products for builders, contractors and do it in a manner that fits in with the long-term environmental concerns of our society," said Cal C. Mosack, Conbraco executive vice president."We're proud to support GreenMech and its goals and objectives."

In addition to educating its members on the need for more energy efficient materials, technologies, design and installation, the Green Mechanical Council sponsors outreach to increase "green" awareness among the public and works with code authorities to adopt effective standards for mechanical systems.

Conbraco ranks among the world's largest producers of ball and butterfly valves, pressurereducing valves, safety relief valves, backflow preventers, actuators and other devices.
