MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 28 -- MicroStrategy® Incorporated (NASDAQ:MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software, today announced that Con-way Inc. (NYSE:CNW) has selected MicroStrategy's Business Intelligence Platform(TM) for performance management applications across its enterprise. Con-way is a $4.7 billion freight transportation and global logistics services company.
As its primary performance management software platform, Con-way plans to use the MicroStrategy applications throughout its operating companies to perform a number of different analyses and reporting activities, including:
o Creating and examining performance metrics and conducting analyses across multiple areas of its business operations o Automating and improving the timeliness of performance and operational reports o Building improved business monitoring and forecasting tools
Once fully deployed, Con-way expects the business intelligence applications to be used by some 3,000 employees in sales, operations, and finance. The applications are expected to help the company gain more effective and accurate insight into business performance, enabling better decision-making with the goal of reducing inefficiencies and improving financial and service performance.
