As specialist for automation technology the Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH supplies complete and integrated infrastructures for companywide data communication. The product range extends from network components for Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet through fibre interfaces for different field bus systems down to electrical actuator and sensor connectors. Business activities will be enhanced by systems for load indication and load moment limitation that will be marketed under the brand names PAT and KRÜGER. These systems are deployed not only in cranes, but also increasingly in areas outside the construction-machinery sector, for example in the area of material handling.
Hirschmann Car Communication's business activities range from transmission and reception systems for original equipment customers through an extensive array of retrofit antennas, to ready made-up coaxial cables to connect antennas and terminal equipment. Hirschmann is also a world market leader in TV hybrid tuners that are designed both for receiving terrestrial analogue television broadcasts and also DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcast-Terrestrial) programmes. Hirschmann is the first manufacturer in the world to supply such tuners for use in mass-produced vehicles. Its customers include leading automobile manufacturers and major suppliers as well as industrial companies, accessory dealers and telecommunications distributors.
The Hirschmann Group has production sites in Germany and Hungary and subsidiaries in Europe, the USA and Asia. In 2005 the Hirschmann Group, with about 1600 staff world wide, achieved a turnover of 271 million.
