New Tool Offers Unique Efficiencies in Wide Variety of CNC Machining Projects
Ludlow, MA - Leading CNC machine shop, Commercial Machine, announced today the acquisition of a special SY Lathe to further enhance its CNC machining services. The new equipment is already enhancing the company's ability to offer a wide variety of efficient and cost effective machining services for the region's most demanding projects.

Commercial Machine's new SY Lathe features a Sub-Spindle with an Y-Axis which differentiates it from traditional machine shop lathes. This feature allows the machine to turn and mill parts which offers efficiencies in production for a wide variety of projects. Used in conjunction with Commercial Machine's innovative fixture design capabilities, the equipment offers significant cost savings in the production of a wide variety of parts.
For example, the equipment was recently used to manufacture a sear, firing pin on a 40MM grenade launcher for the military. The part was produced more quickly and at less cost than originally projected due to the clear advantages provided by the SY Lathe.
