Online Banking Solutions (OBS) announces Commerce Bank Implementation of the Online Messenger(TM) Alerts Service
ATLANTA, Sept. 17 / - Online Banking Solutions (OBS) today announced that Commerce Bank, the principal subsidiary of Commerce Bancshares, Inc. a $15.5 billion, Missouri-based regional bank holding company, successfully implemented the OBS Online Messenger system with the introduction of a new Alerts Service for client notifications of positive pay exceptions, controlled disbursement information and wire transfer advices.
Commerce Bank's rollout plan for Online Messenger includes additional event-based information delivery and secure file transfer as driven by customer adoption and demand.
"With the new OBS alert service, Commerce customers no longer need to actively inquire online about any possible positive pay exceptions. Instead, our customers now receive an e-mail notification every business day reporting the number of positive pay exceptions, even when they have no exceptions," said Bruce Bienhoff, vice president, Product Development, Commerce Bank.
Commerce's controlled disbursement customers will receive daily e-mails, which will include the presentment totals. In addition, wire alerts will be sent to customers in real time by e-mail for all incoming and outgoing wire transactions. The number and timing of the e-mails will be driven by account activity.
"Alerts and notifications go a long way to adding value to current Treasury Management products and services," says Joe Spatarella, OBS vice president of Sales and Marketing. "The market is moving towards an event-based delivery model placing a greater emphasis on up-to-the-minute information; the web is a great inquiry tool, but there is no substitute for automated delivery of transaction advices as they occur."
