Holyoke, MA, April 26, 2010 - Combustible dust is a serious problem facing manufacturers today. Over 100 dust related explosions occurred last year alone resulting in death and destruction of property. Proper housekeeping is essential to decreasing the risks. OSHA requires that industries manufacturing products that produce a combustible dust, institute housekeeping procedures that include vacuuming dust 1/32 of an inch (approximately the thickness of a paperclip) and greater with a certified explosion proof vacuum - not the typical shop vacuum.
