Press release date: March 7, 2008

Breda, Holland - Cobar BV, part of the Balver Zinn Group, has been awarded prestigious ISO/TS 16949 quality accreditation for the next contractual period of 3 years. This is the second time in a row that Cobar BV has achieved this accreditation.

In making the announcement, Eli Westerlaken, Managing Director, said "This achievement clearly shows the world that at Cobar, we are very serious about quality. ISO/TS 16949 is the 'gold standard' for those serving the high-reliability international automobile manufacturing industry. Quality is a state of mind, not just a piece of paper, and we are proud of all our people for their magnificent team effort and ongoing support of the QMS program."

ISO/TS 16949:2002 is an ISO technical specification that aligns existing American (QS-9000), German (VDA6.1), French (EAQF) and Italian (AVSQ) automotive quality systems standards within the global automotive industry, with the aim of eliminating the need for multiple certifications to satisfy customer requirements.

Together with ISO 9001:2000, ISO/TS 16949:2002 specifies the quality system requirements for the design/development, production, installation and servicing of automotive related products. In addition, there are customer specific requirements that are required by individual subscribing vehicle manufacturers.

ISO/TS 16949:2002 was developed by The International Automotive Task Force (IATF), in conjunction with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The IATF consists of an international group of major vehicle manufacturers.

Cobar BV was accredited to ISO 9001 in 1994 and to ISO 14001 in 1997, and is also accredited to NATO's AQAP-110. Cobar Europe BV was first accredited to the prestigious ISO/TS 16949 Quality Management Standard in early 2005. The Cobar Group - now all part of the Balver Zinn Group - includes Cobar Europe BV in Breda, Holland, and Cobar Solder Products Inc. in Londonderry, NH, USA. Cobar Solder Products (U.S.) is located at 53 Wentworth Avenue, Londonderry, New Hampshire 03053 USA, Tel. +1-603-432-7500, Fax +1- 603-432-7519.
