CoachCrafters, Inc. Announces Two New Positions Created to Provide the Highest Service Levels

Tavares, FL (September 2, 2009)-In order to protect their employees as well as the environment, CoachCrafters, Inc. recently created two new positions within the company.

"We looked at the cost of accidents and injuries in the workplace, not only from definable monetary cost but also from the soft cost of decreased morale, and decided that we needed to further elevate our safety policies," detailed Wayne Wolf, president of CoachCrafters, Inc.

Promoted to safety officer was Aaron Atkins, who joined CoachCrafters in February of 2009. Atkins immediately set about upgrading safety related equipment at CoachCrafters, including installation of addition eye wash stations and first aid kits, and arranged to have half a dozen employees CPR and basic first aid certified.

"We were very fortunate that one of our mechanics had a strong background in industrial safety, and we appointed him our safety officer and empowered him to make whatever changes he felt necessary in order to make our facility as safe as it possibly can be," said Tom Quay, Vice President of CoachCrafters. "Aaron is the bottom line. If it's not safe, he has the authority to shut the operation down until it can be made safe. We've also encouraged all of our employees to work safer and to point out unsafe situations to each other."

Wolf also added, "It's also helped to foster a greater sense of teamwork among our employees, which was an unexpected benefit to the initiative."

CoachCrafters also looked at what the company could do to safeguard the environment, and determined that they could make some positive changes. They hired an environmental services consultant, Jami Wolf, to perform a full environmental audit. "Our eyes were really opened by the improvements we could make as far as recycling and proper disposal of items we never had really thought of as a danger to the environment in the past," stated Quay. "We now recycle all paper, cardboard, all types of metals, plastic, and many types of glass as well as batteries, aerosol cans, and chemicals. Along with Jami, we are working with Lake County to continue to enhance our environmental awareness project, "Goal Green!" and to look at other areas where we can become more environmentally friendly.
