First Co-Located METALFORM Mexico Tradeshow a Success

CLEVELAND, OH - June 30, 2009 - In response to industry demands and to provide greater service to attendees and exhibitors, the Precision Metalforming Association's (PMA) METALFORM Mexico tradeshow co-located with the AWS Weldmex, Fabtech Mexico and COATech tradeshows on June 2-4, 2009. During this mega event, more than 6,200 attendees viewed the latest welding, fabricating and metalforming technologies at Monterrey's Cintermex exposition facility. Sixty-four percent of attendees were first-time participants.

"We achieved our goal of making this event a true national show with more than 40 percent of attendees coming from outside of Monterrey, including 20 percent from Mexico City and the south," said Chuck Cross, show manager. "There also were attendees from other Latin American countries and from Canada."

In addition to publicizing the show in newspapers and through direct mail and telemarketing, television and radio were added to the promotional efforts this year. It was a huge success, as more than 500 radio ads ran on six radio stations, and interviews appeared on three television stations.

Exhibitors were pleased with the success of the co-located tradeshows. "This year more than 350 visitors came to our stand," stated Luis Tapia, Mexico sales manager for Dayton Progress. "We've been part of METALFORM Mexico since its inception in 2004, and every year it keeps getting better."

Chuck Sexton, sales manager, industrial products, Kyzen Corporation, agreed. "Kyzen Corporation does quite a few industrial shows every year, and the METALFORM Mexico show this year in Monterrey was one of the best shows we have done in years. We were pleased with the quantity and quality of leads, and level of interest of the attendees. We obtained substantially more leads than we expected to get."

The shows' sponsors-PMA, the American Welding Society, the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers-will again co-locate their Mexico tradeshows on May 11-13, 2010, in Mexico City.

METALFORM Mexico alternates each year between Mexico City and Monterrey, effectively covering the entire Mexican metalforming market. The show is sponsored by the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), the full-service trade association representing the $91-billion metalforming industry of North America, and co-organized by Trade Show Consulting (TSC), which has been producing shows in Mexico since 1992.
