Cleaver-Brooks
P.O. Box 421
Milwaukee, WI, 53201
USA

Press release date: September 17, 2007

MILWAUKEE - Cleaver-Brooks announced it has formed an exclusive strategic alliance with A.E.P. Thermal of Montreal, Quebec. The alliance gives Cleaver-Brooks exclusive rights to build Acme's high voltage electrode boilers in its Thomasville, Ga. facility and rights to North American distribution. This product offer complements the current Cleaver-Brooks line of resistance units.

Electrode boilers utilize the conductive and resistive properties of water to carry electric current and generate steam. The more current (amps) that flows, the more steam produced. One-hundred percent of the electrical energy input is converted into heat with no stack or heat transfer losses creating efficiencies greater than 99 percent.

"With rising fuel costs and emphasis on decreasing environmental impact, this is a vital time to strengthen this important product area," says Earle Pfefferkorn, president of C-B Package Boilers. "We are committed to providing our customers with the products they need to operate more efficiently. Both Acme and Cleaver-Brooks feel that combining our strengths and bringing these boilers to market under one trusted name will lead to better results in the market place for both of our companies and for our customers."

For companies affected by interruptions in natural gas supply and costly oil prices, electrode boilers provide a dependable source of steam. They offer a clean, easy-to-operate alternative to fossil fuels and allow users to take advantage of lower energy rates during daily or seasonal off-peak periods.

This product now offered through Cleaver-Brooks is called the CEJS Series. The CEJS electrodes are vertically mounted around the inside of the pressure vessel enabling it to produce maximum amounts of steam with very minimal floor space.
