Clean Harbors Enhances Online Services

NORWELL, Mass. - Jan. 26, 2010 - Clean Harbors, North America's leading provider of environmental, energy and industrial services, today announced new features to its Online Services waste and compliance management system that adds flexibility and extends the capabilities of the free Clean Harbors service.

Online Services is a Web-based system that employs a comprehensive set of tools to help companies administer their environmental programs and comply with regulatory requirements. With Online Services, customers can directly manage and report on their waste chemical inventories and track waste through collection and disposal.

Building on an already robust offering, new user enhancements include:

Customizable User Rights - Online Services now provides a User Administrator account that has management oversight and authorization to modify the rights of all registered users. The User Administrator can specify "Full Rights" or "View Rights" for chemical inventories, profiles, rolloffs and reports for individuals across the organization. This is especially useful for large operations with several departmental waste generators on a single site or large multi-site corporations that require strict control across the organization.

Rolloff View Module - Clean Harbors also added a rolloff view module that enables customers using Online Services to inventory the types and locations of leased rolloff containers. This increased visibility helps companies manage their inventories and reduce leasing costs by identifying and better utilizing or removing idle containers.

Inventory Management - The Online Services inventory management module has been extended to include lab pack (chemical) quantities of waste. Using Online Services simplifies the chemical management process since it is now possible to electronically track and label waste chemicals. Chemicals can be selected and added (lab-packed) into drums for proper identification and tracking. The Online Services application tracks the chemical to the unique drum the chemical is linked to. The waste material in the drum can then be manifested for shipping, and tracked through disposal.

Support for Engineering & Consulting Firms - Clean Harbors Online Services now enables engineering and consulting firms, which perform onsite remediation projects and have contracted with Clean Harbors for waste removal, to give their customers (the generators) view rights to relevant reports. This feature efficiently accommodates multiple user organizations, provides up-to-the-minute data, and facilitates engineering and consulting firms' reporting responsibilities.

Redesigned Home Page - All of these features are available through a redesigned Web-based dashboard that logically presents all of the waste and compliance management and reporting tools. Whether the customer prints its own shipping labels, packing lists and manifests directly from its online inventories or has Clean Harbors perform this function, the use of Clean Harbors Online Services saves time and expense.

"These Online Services enhancements make an already attractive waste and compliance management system even more flexible and useful for customers ranging from research labs to large industrial operations," commented Clean Harbors Manager of Online Services Steve West. "It is now easier to create chemical profiles, manage inventory, track waste movement and disposal, and integrate reports into corporate systems and meet regulatory requirements."

Facilitates Regulatory Compliance - Biennial Reporting Customers that use Clean Harbors Online Services to manage all of their hazardous waste can also easily submit the biennial reports required under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). All of the requisite shipping quantities, descriptions and disposal methods are captured by the Online Services system allowing customers to efficiently create the report for submission.

Clean Harbors Online Services is available immediately. Customers can learn more and sign up for this free service at the Clean Harbors website at www.cleanharbors.com/onlineservices.
